Aaron Gill for State Rep
Link to Monitor Article

I'm running for State Representative in Deering and Weare to better serve my community.

I'm a 40 year old community banker serving my second term as a Deering Selectman. I also volunteer on several local boards and committees, write a regular column on Deering history in our local paper, and promote local events. Simply put, I love my community.

I've noticed that a good deal of what our Selectboard does is react to the State Legislature. Increased pension contributions, reduced revenue sharing, and increased operational costs are all Concord derived hurdles we've dealt with. Seeing firsthand how our State Reps and Senators affect our property tax rate is one reason why sending a Selectman to Concord is a wise idea, since serving as State Rep will allow me to address these issues at their source.

My other priorities will be creating a non-partisan redistricting commission to end gerrymandering in NH, making the Medicaid expansion permanent, bringing commuter rail to NH, and banning 'conversion therapy' on minors.

I'm not running against any particular person. The House district for Deering and Weare has three seats, meaning you can vote for me and two other candidates.

Being a State Rep will be difficult. I work full-time and will need to rearrange hours and burn vacation days to do this. But I have a strong desire to serve my community and will be humbled by the ability to do so. You can contact me and learn more at www.GillNH.com. Thank you for the opportunity.
